The wildlife department has moved 20 families of Pardhi and Behlia tribes out of the Panna tiger reserve to Janwar, 10 km from the park. They have been allotted a huge residential plot, which also houses a small industrial unit where the poles are fabricated. The remaining 41 families would join them soon. The British had branded these tribes as criminal tribes. Their hunting skills are well known and many see them as a threat to tiger population, writes Chetan Chauhan in Hindustan Times.

As the time for the hunting season is coming close, millions of people rush to stand in line and cue up to get a hunting licence for all sorts of shooting and hunting. But due to the big rush, the officials are planning to open the selling of license well in advance to aviod the rush at the last minute and hope to have more and more licenses being bought on line or though call centers reports Bryan French from Star Telegram.

With the population of black bears increasing drastically and this could be a problem as the conflicts between bear and human could increase drastically thus the state government has decided to open hunting for the people. Canadians want US to allow sports hunting of polar bears

Recently, the US declares the polar bear threatened under its Endangered Species Act, as a result American sportsmen may no longer bring home trophy skins from Canada, which is what hunting's high-rollers prize. Canada only restricts the hunt to two months and limits the number of kills. Hunters spend an estimated $1.6 million annually during the polar bear hunts, much of which goes into the economies of the isolated villages where the hunts are organised and concentrated.
